EASTER BAGS FOR THE CHILDREN ~ You’re invited to place Easter treats (small toys, crafts, books, candies) in the bags at the front of the church to be distributed to our children 

BRIEF CHILDREN’S EASTER PROGRAM ~ You’re invited to stay for 10 minutes after the Easter service for a brief Easter message for the children by Mrs. Perry.

ARRANGEMENTS AND OBITUARY FOR PASTOR JAMES WIGGINS ~

On Thursday, 10 a.m., the Service will be streamed live via YouTube  https://youtu.be/VFHFxGk_S5o and available on the Phillips Mortuary, www.phillipsmortuary.com allowing everyone to collectively celebrate the life of Rev. James Wiggins, Jr.

Based on the family’s recommendation and as a congregation served by Pastor Wiggins, we are collecting memorials to be made to Saint Paul Lutheran Church for the James Wiggins, Jr. Community Outreach Memorial Fund, 2730 West Edgewood Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida 32209.

1960 – 2021

Rev. James Wiggins Jr. was called to be with Jesus on  March 23, 2021, in Jacksonville, FL.

Rev. James Wiggins, Jr was born in Selma, AL., to Rev. James, Sr., and the late Katie (Ghaskin) Wiggins (2020). He was a graduate of Concordia College, Selma, Alabama, Concordia Teachers College, Seward, Nebraska, and Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, IN in 1986, Master of Divinity. He was ordained and installed on June 29, 1986 at Mt. Calvary, Kannapolis, NC, where he served until 1990. He accepted a call to Outer Drive Faith, Detroit, MI from 1990 – 1998 and Peace Lutheran Church, Washington D.C from 1998 – 2011. He served St. Paul, Jacksonville, FL., from 2011 – 2021, until his passing.

James was very active in his service to the church throughout his career. He served as Former First Vice President of the Southeastern District–LCMS, Chairperson and Board Member Board of Regents of Concordia College, Selma, Alabama, Circuit Counselor in the Michigan District of the LCMS, Member of the Board for Black Ministry Services–LCMS and Former President of the Black Clergy Caucus of the LCMS.

James leaves to mourn and celebrate his life, his wife, Loretta, sons, daughters, grandchildren, father, brother, sisters, nieces and nephews, other relatives and his St. Paul’s family and all who knew and served with him in the LCMS and LCMS Black Ministry over these 35 years of faithful mission and ministry to Christ and His Church.
